Property Tax Collection  and  Assessment Information

 

Tax bills will be mailed  December 15, 2023.

 

You are required to pay the first installment of your property taxes to the Town of Fremont prior to January 31, 2024.
You may pay in full if you wish, anytime on or before January 31.

Payment Options:

Pay by US Mail:

Pay your taxes by US Mail.  You must have your payment postmarked on before the due date.  Kindly include the tear off portion of your real estate bill with your payment.  Pay by check, money order or cashier's check.  No cash payments please!

Make check payable to the Town of Fremont and mail to:

If you'd like a receipt for your tax payment, please include a self –addressed stamped envelope along with your payment.  Mail early!  It may take several days via the postal system.   Payments are considered posted the day they are received.

Pay in Person at the Town Hall:

Friday, December 29, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Saturday, January 27, 2024  from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..

Second Installment - Due July 31

The Town of Fremont does not collect the second installment.   Payments must be paid to the Waupaca County Treasurer.

Other Things You Should Know:

We do not accept credit cards at this time. 

Returned payments will result in an NSF fee of $35.00.

If your tax payment was in excess of your tax bill and a is refund due, it will be approved at the next town board meeting which is the third Tuesday of the month.  No refunds are given for amounts less than $1.00.

Tax collection is done either by mail or in person at the town hall.  Please do not drop tax payments off at clerk-treasurer's residence.

Lottery Credit - If you did not receive the Lottery & Gaming Credit on your tax bill, please call the clerk-treasurer to see if you are eligible.  To qualify, you must own a home in Wisconsin and your home must have been occupied as your primary residence on January 1, 2023.

Taxes will be collected through January 31, 2024.  Payments received after that date are turned over to Waupaca County for processing.  Payment must be postmarked on time. Late fees will apply.

The assessed values of properties within the Town of Fremont are available on the Waupaca County website using their Tax Information search.
