NOTE TO ALL DOG OWNERS

Please be reminded that pursuant to Sec. 174.05(1) Wis. Stats., notice is hereby given to all owners of dogs in the Town of Fremont, Waupaca County that rabies vaccinations and dog licenses are required by Monday, March 31, 2025, or the owner will incur a late charge as of Tuesday, April 1, 20245

Wis. Stats. 95.21(2) requires that dogs be vaccinated for rabies by a veterinarian at no later than 5 months of age and revaccinated within one year after the initial vaccination and every 3 years thereafter. We do not keep paper copies of rabies information on file, proof of current immunization against rabies must be presented at the time the license is requested. If you cannot find your dog’s rabies shot certificate, please contact your veterinarian for a duplicate copy.

LICENSE FEE SCHEDULE:

Neutered or Spayed Dog = $3.00

Unneutered or unspayed dog = $8.00

Any license requests received after March 31st will be assessed an extra $5.00 per dog.

Mail the following to Town of Fremont, PO Box 450, Fremont, WI 54940:

  • Certificate of Rabies Vaccination
  • Proof of Spaying or Neutering
  • Self-addressed envelope (for return of your documents and license)
  • Check made payable to the Town of Fremont (see license fee schedule above)

Pets running loose can be impounded in an animal shelter and their owner will be responsible for payment of appropriate fees that are imposed at the time the animal is reclaimed.  Licensing also quickly eliminates searching and aids in the recovery if lost and helps keep the neighborhood protected from rabies.

 Thank you!
